Day 43, 2013 - Quattro Formaggio Pizza Panino

This is also my first entry into this months challenge, "Homemade FOOD photography."

To the untrained eye this probably looks like pizza rolls. However, I will forgive your untrained eye and explain. What you are actually looking at is gourmet dad cooking on a busy night. My first raw ingredient was... well... pizza rolls, BUT in this case it was a "raw" ingredient and not a pizza roll. I then dressed it up with a specific Italian formaggio. Again, to the untrained eye you may be saying "that's just cheese on a pizza roll!" Once again, I forgive your barbaric untrained palette. The package said it was an ITALIAN blend therefore it is quattro formaggio as it had four kinds of cheese.

Your honor, the defense rests and submits my Homemade Food Photography submission for evaluation.

Day 44, 2013 - Ivy Leaf

Sure it's the middle of winter, but I have to admire the Ivy growing on our back fence for being so defiant and staying green.

Day 45, 2013 - Airport at Night

Trying to carry my camera with me more. Saw the airport lights and snapped this one. Didn't capture it the way I want so I will have to work on it more.

Day 46, 2013 - Smoke

I've often looked at the smoke coming out of the stack and wondered what it would look like so here it is. Just doesn't look like I would have hoped. Oh, well. It's a learning journey.

However, I will not be around for about a week. Heading to the Grand Tetons and West Yellowstone area to do winter photography. If I have internet I will post daily. Otherwise, I will catch my thread up when I return. Really excited to do this trip. Will be travelling with a friend who is a professional so he can show me the ropes.

Day 48, 2013 - Randy

While on our snowmobiling trip we came upon Randy. He took plenty of time to pose for us. Really turned down the quality on this one. The internet connection is kind of weak but functional.

Location: Two Top Loop - West Yellowstone, MT & ID

LEARNED: Wow! The intense brightness of the snow and the dark of virtually anything else can really confuse the camera. Test shots are really needed. However, it is entirely possible this has more to do with me (experience) than the camera being tripped up.

I know exactly what you mean! I can't wait for the snow to go because I'm finding it very difficult and frustrating to learn when the subject isn't the snow!
