what a wonderful picture Helene, it brought me back to middle school and how silly those boys were always rough housing in the hallway this is a great capture.

"Fort Stanton Ruins"

Really cutting it close tonight.
Went back out to Fort Stanton and climbed around in some "forbidden" places.
This place has quite a history . . . buffalo soldiers, POW, merchant marines.
Now so much of it deserted and locked up.
Probably haunted, too.

Helene, love the shot......but I can't help thinking "something's wrong here".....but I can't quite put my finger on it, and it's bugging me. Maybe I'll figure it out soon......

Helene, I would love to comment on your photos but I can't, because each time I'm left...... speechless. You take some amazing photos. Each day I look forward to see your next post.

Well, i think it's the blurry and "hot" rocks in the foreground. Very different WB in the front and in the back. I like this shot for the "visual rhyme" and might convert it to BW. May try this shot another time (if I can get through the barbed wire fence again) This is my version of "fine art photography" LOL

As always, jack, your feedback is much appreciated!

Helene, honestly, I'm not a critical type person. I mean.....who am I to critique, right? I'm no expert. I just give feedback on my feelings and visual interpretations on what "I" think is right or wrong with a photo, so please don't take offense. Having said that....I do understand your version of "fine art photography" :) And, like Rick, I look forward to every shot you post. :)

OMG, Jack! Did you take my post as my being offended? You're my "barometer" here. Our tastes in photography are so similar that you're right on in terms of something being off, whether it's my photo or or someone else's. My remark about "fine art photography" refers back to discussions we had many moons ago about how "crappy" photos are passed off as "fine art".

You can never offend me, my friend, by being honest. I apologize if I came across that way

WOW! Now THAT'S a rose!! How vibrant it looks! Funny you should mention dreaming of spring......that's what I spend all winter doing! LOL :) I hibernate in the winter, watching hockey and spending most of my time here on Nikonites. :)

Oh no no, Helene, I didn't take it like that at all! :) I just didn't want YOU to think I was being offensive to YOU! :) I think on it now that what I couldn't put my finger on, was that you were "off" your game a little. :) Nothing serious. It happens to all of us at one time or another, eh. ;)

This is a great shot I love it

Thank you, Christine! This is an indoor, miniature rose. I only wish my roses in my garden looked this good in the spring and summer. Maybe the grasshoppers won't be so bad this year, and the buds will stand a chance!

Best Regards

Wow, Helene, the rose is beautiful! With the lighting it looks like it is outside in the summer sun! Old man winter is nice too, with that one crisp clear, green branch in front, nice photo, otherwise I usually don't care for old man winter, he can be a cruel old man.

I agree. That's why he's hiding out . . . he heard there was a lynch mob after him LOL
Thanks for the comments, Jen!
