Probably the most enjoyable accessory that you can get for under $100. ND400 (~9 stop) or ND1000 (10 stop) and clouds/water. Get a 77mm and step down rings for other sizes and you're set.

Sage advice!! These aren't things that you can just walk in and purchase anywhere. Get them when you can. Preferably before you need them!

BTW, your dad looks like he was made for the beach life!

Been a while since I posted here, but I'm still shooting. ;)

Was wandering Downtown Tulsa and stumbled across Chalkfest. Great opportunity for a few shots!

Putting on the finishing touches...

Pretty sure this guy was drawing a "Squatch"... I BELIEVE!!!

Coloring OUTSIDE the lines!

Artists at work. I can't imagine stooping down like that for long! The next chalk art would be the outline around my body.

This young lady was creating art in the "open" section. Snapped a shot and immediately showed mom to make sure she didn't mind... then gave her a full release to use/print/share the photo as she wished.

Chalkfest continued...

This guy posed to take credit for some of the art... (then admitted after the shot that he was just responsible for about 10% of it, LOL)

Chalk2.jpg

Apparently, this youngster was prepared to support mom for the "long haul".

Chalk3.jpg

Atlas, from the top of the historical "Atlas Life" building was watching over it all...

Got a chance to go to the Gatesway Balloon Festival a couple of weeks ago... 1st time shooting hot air balloons. ;) (although I shoot a lot of hot air all the time)

We weren't there all day, but managed a few decent shots. 1st, skydivers coming in!

Then some of the balloons coming in...

And finally, the "night glow" just after sunset.

Nice to see shots from the 18-55 once in a while @Pretzel. I still put it on myself here and there.:)

It's a very capable lens, great for the wide angle shots AND close-ups! Toyed around with selling the D3100 once or twice, but it's harder to sell without a lens, and the 18-55 is staying HERE!

How about some shots while wandering downtown OKC? The wife was there for a conference (work), so while she was listening to folks drone on about HR related subjects, I was left to my own resources... like wandering around the downtown area with my camera (play).

Found this cool wall sign pointing to the canal area. I've already had the opportunity to shoot quite a bit down there, so didn't take many shots, but loved the sign.

This was part of a mural on the wall across the way from the canal sign, and it was the piece of the wall I fell in love with. EVERY kid should have the opportunity to feel this way!

Bricktown2.jpg

Caught this lovely lady trying to hide behind a bit of foliage. I found an open spot and got the shot anyway. ;)

Bricktown3.jpg

This is the main tower of the Devon Energy complex... AWESOME place downtown OKC, with a lot of investment put into the outside of the building as well (park like area, fountains, etc.)

LOVED the reflections in all of the mirrored surfaces, and have a few more pics to mess with. Perhaps they'll show up here soon. :)

Bricktown4.jpg

Fun downtown shot near where I found to park before wandering...

Few more OKC shots...

Not the Devon Energy Center, but found a couple of twin reflective buildings elsewhere downtown too, so took the opportunity.

Caught this in the Myriad Botanical Gardens.

Bricktown9.jpg

And these were just laying around, had obviously been there for a while, so I shot 'em. Who knows why we do what we do sometimes??

Few more OKC... :)

Never know who ya can get to wave until you ask!

Devon Energy tower from across the street...

Myriad Botanical Gardens.

Bricktown13.jpg

Why was I thinking "4, 8, 15, 16, 23, 42" when I saw this elevator??

Bricktown14.jpg

Cool *POOF* inside the gardens...

Very nice shots lately pretzel! I particularly like the stuff from OKC. I'll be heading that way over Thanksgiving to see my brother, he's going to OU.

Co-worker bought me one of the coolest Chia planters EVER! I present (in artistic view, for the month of October - Halloween), the CHIA ZOMBIE!

Found a lovely lady weaving a web in the back yard... decided to bust out the flash and see what I could "catch" in the dark. ;)

18-55mm kit lens, as close as I could get and still avoid getting a spider in my face with the occasional gust of wind, then cropped.

Can see her spinneret here, and some web shooting out. She was going round and round and round and...

Spiderweb1.jpg

Switched to the opposite side for a couple of shots. Guessing the tree trunk camo is for the daytime. ;)

Spiderweb2.jpg

Spiderweb3.jpg

Then back around again.

Few more of the spider...

After the web was finished, I caught a mayfly and offered it as a peace offering, since I had been hitting her with so many flashes.

Spiderweb8.jpg

She appreciated the meal.

Spiderweb7.jpg

Then misted the web lightly to see if I could get a couple more decent shots for a "spooky" feel.

Spiderweb5.jpg

This ended up being a nice shot, I thought...
