Not the greatest shot, but my 1st spider... considering that and where he was, I am pleased... I will improve! :)

I was in a park today shooting a couple, and noticed this dragonfly on a twig looking me right in the eye. So I focus to the closest focus on the 85 mm 1.4G and shoot away (I think around f2.8). The funny thing is this little guy would fly away, then land again at exactly the same point, so I just shot at different angles. Nice bokeh, huh? ;) And who needs a macro lens? LOL These are all 100% crops from the D800.

Here's a full frame example prior to cropping.

WOW, is that a great photo. No, a spider is definitely not my favorite pet
Thanks Michael, yes they would not be the cuddliest pet.

Thanks Pat, but there are others here that have already set the bar high for me as well.
That green fly, top pic in #290 has me frustrated to the max. I have taken over 300 shots of those little buggers in the last few days, I have 3 left that I havent deleted. And I am not totally happy with all 3.
They are so fast and jittery, getting a good shot of them seems near on impossible. The 55 lens doesnt help , because I have to be so close, they normally take off before I can focus on them.

Wow awesome shots Brad! Way to go! :D

Thanks Bill.

Brad, I do not feel so bad... I am throwing a high percentage away... I thought I was just "not doing well". :) I just need to keep plugging away but you have some great shots .. Keep it up my friend!

Took this on break at work today. Was just hanging out on an antenna. I took out the camera and he actually posed for it. I noticed him watching me, but he literally opened his wings up a bit more when I pointed the lens at him. Was a great moment.
