While this is not an insect, I believe that others have posted arachnid shots on this thread.... So here goes, although I'd like to go back an shoot this shot with a strobe lighting this one from the bottom of the frame. What we call a Crab Spider down here.

I took some more shots, but all the others were no good due to slow shutter speed and wind blowing the web around.•

I am corrected by one of my friends that this is not a crab spider, but a Spiny Orb Weaver. I'm not sure how far north they venture, but they are considered resident to the US southfrom California to Florida plus Central America and in some Caribbean Islands.
Nice shots Brad... I have not gotten any spiders yet!
