Take care, buddy. I hope you feel better soon.

Love all the other shots....don't like the last B&W one. Looks out of focus to me.

Thanks for all your likes guys. I felt better when I woke up this morning, so hopefully the beast is gone. So it's back to work...

As for the B&W picture, it's not out of focus but motion blurred. I wanted to have a long shutter time and do it hand held just for that look. I maybe would have liked to have it a little less blurred, but you live and learn. I guess 1/2 sec would have done the trick instead of 1 full second hand held.

Have a nice day!

Jan 17th.

Got home just in time before the light completely went away. Stepped out on the back porch with the D7000 and sigma 10-20.

Jan 18th, very cold today. It was -24 celcius this morning and by the afternoon it had gotten back up to - 14...

River started to freeze so I played around with it some more. First one processed raw, second one HDR.

We can never despair with weather. It can change quite fast. And it did just while I went out for groceries, so when I came back, the river was just desperately waiting to be HDRed. :)

I made two versions, first one

Second with a little "oil painting" filter that I masked here and there:

Both are great but I feel both are over done, the scene has enough to give you a WOW factor :)

Here's another that was not HDRed. Just RAW processed with the "oil painting" effect again. I kind of like this but am afraid I might be using it too much...

Sorry as an oil painter these effects do nothing for me. I think it would be much better as a photo, as its an amazing scene.

To back this up here is an oil painting I did in 1991 lol
