D7200 the facts

I think I'm gonna save some money and get the D7200 with the 18-105mm instead of the 18-140mm. As Don says it works great plus for anything further I have my 55-300mm so I'll be good.

"By the time I have worked out all the functions and Settings on my D7100, they will bring out a new camera to replace the D7200"
I was thinking the same about my D7000. Nikon makes it tough to enjoy what you have, because it seems like every few months they come out with a newer model to make you feel like you need to upgrade.

Wanna know why it seems that way? Well, for one thing your perception is not too far from the reality...

Nikon released the D4 in January 2011. Since then it has released nine full-frame cameras ending with the D750 which was released in September of 2014. On average, that's a new model released every four months. And again, that's JUST full-frame bodies.

If they'd release one model every year or two years, they'd not be selling as much. The more models, the faster we feel the need to upgrade.

If they release one every four months, we buy the new spiffy cam at the beginning of the year and by the end of that same year, we start to wonder what we're doing with this museum piece.

Well, the D7200 has some features/upgrades that make it very appealing to me. The larger buffer is big for me since I shoot sports and wildlife. I guess we'll see how much better the low light performance and focusing is, but those are both important to me, as well. I think being able to control the camera with your cell phone is a nice convenience, as is wifi transmission of pics, but I would never consider that as a specific reason to buy.

I am very happy with my D7100, and want to stick with FX. I could use an extra body to replace my aging D70, which I use for backup and just because I like to carry two bodies so I don't have to swap lenses. I'm going to hold off for a while, though, until the reviews are in and RAW software has been updated. If the focusing and low light performance is truly improved to a significant degree, I'll probably bite.

I must say, I thought this new model would cost more than it does, which is a nice surprise.

While not the same for all, the improved ISO performance and increased buffer are enough to make it a worthwhile upgrade over the D7100 for me. But it ain't gonna happen any time soon. :(

For multiple reasons.

It's funny how they still hold back from making it a fully pro Dx. They solved the buffer but yet left it at 6 fps. They still left room....., :)

Lol, my main camera is a D70, and that's only because my dad gave me his D70 backup camera after he recently upgraded to a D4s. I REALLY need to decide between the likely D7100 deals on the horizon or a shiny new D7200 (and I really want the 7200).

I just ordered a 5300 think it's worth the upgrade from the D5300 to a 7200 I paid $500 for the 5300 refurbished from comets so the 7200 would be twice the price ?

Punctuation would help a lot here...

Are you asking if we think it's worth the price difference to upgrade from the D5300 to the D7200?

Comparing camera to camera how much better in image quality is the 7200 vs the 5300. I know the 7200 isn't out yet but from rumors and such will there be much of a difference ?
