Thanks Rick, Jen and Helene. I'm going to have to setup an indoor studio to continue this photo a day thread. The rain doesn't want to let up for me to hot outdoors "except some tulips".

Partly sunny today. Thought I'd take a look at Lake Champlain flood waters.

Hope to add some decent shots once the weather turns!!!

Thanks for the reply Chris, Helene has always been my go to gal & she always comes thru, but I don't have windows 7 so I'll just have to grin & bare it.!!

All very nice shots, Chris. I would not want to be near those flood waters, that sucks.
The mother's day Omelette, did you make it?

Nice healthy attractive food. Gives me a good recipe hint. Great color combination.

Has this shot been stacked or something? I like the composition, but the clouds look really weird.
Of course, I am old as dirt. It could be my eyes!
I still like the look of this one.

Not your eyes Pete. The time of day had the colors washed out of the scene, so I chose to bracket a few shots and covert it to HDR to pep it up if you will.

Hi Chris,
I think that your cloud problem comes from the time lapse between your bracketed shots. Seems that they moved between the different exposures. When doing HDR I always try to use High Speed Continuous exposures.

I'm not so sure your un HDRed shot is that flat. See what a little PP could do to it:

Thanks Marcel. I cranked up the vibrance in PP, but it went to far. Did you increase vibrance and contrast? or something else?

I have the battery grip on the D700 that allows forhigh speed continuous shooting. I pushed the HDR effect in the clouds in PP, though I wasn't pleased with the outcome. Was in a hurry to get the pic posted last night!!!

I first did sharpening using a copy of the basic layer and the "high pass" filter, then using the curve adj. layer, I increased contrast an exposure but only for the ground. Then I opened a level layer adjustment and darkened the sky and increased contrast a little. I used the paintbrush in the layer mask to remove the created effect where I didn't want it to be effective.

It takes more time to write the explanation than to actually do it. ;-)

Hmmmmmmmmm. I have CS5, but I am not proficient with it. I will play with a couple of my photos and try out some of the adjustments you made.

Thanks again Marcel
