Help! Big problem with Nikon Fisheye 8-15 with FTZ II

I don't know about that specific combination. But I have a couple of thoughts about solving your problem. I understand the 8-15mm is a full-frame lens, but I am reading between the lines here and believe you previously used it on a D7200. With the crop-factor of the D7200, you had a 12mm field...

    Nikon lens interchangability

Sorry Lisa, that adapter is the most likely cause of your woes. What you really want is the Nikon built part. Either the FTZ or the FTZ-II. I did a fast search at Kamerastore (a major used camera gear site in Finland I believe) and turned up the original FTZ...

Cindy, It has a special-shaped pinch-on plastic lens cover (it only fits in one orientation). It takes rear gel filters and if you fit the HB-97 lens-hood there is filter threads inside to use a front filter. That is the reason I am shopping for that lens hood. There is also an aftermarket hood...

Had to update my signature. Came home from the camera store today with a used Z14-24mm f/2.8. It was my intended next lens to buy and fill a hole in my zoom range. When looking up lenses for somebody else this past week I discovered the lens at my local store available. Unfortunately the only...

    2025 Imaged BF Hammer style

Taken with my Lumix camera, these came out a lot less fuzzy through the windshield than my cellphone camera did. I was way too close to exit the car without scaring the birds away.

Will this work on my Z30?

I am not sure I would have the talent to track moving aircraft zoomed in to 400mm (600mm with the crop factor) just looking with the viewscreen. It is hard enough to do when you can use a viewfinder and track along with head movement. I would need a tripod and gimbal head.

    Nikon lens interchangability

Lisa, was the lens bought used? If so and a previous owner also had the Sigma dock, I could believe pretty easily that the focus was customized for another camera body. Or at least attempted and done poorly. It is something that can be done with the software, but I never had a reason to try...

Solved: D810 Tethered Shooting and Dell PC problem

Depending on how large of a TV you might have available, you can use the HDMI connector of the D810 for LiveView. Copied from the manual: HDMI and Live View When the camera is connected via an HDMI cable, HDMI displays can be used for live view photography and movie live view (0 48, 59). Note...

Will this work on my Z30?

I could not say with certainty. Z30 bodies don't show in the discussion here as often as a Z50 or better. What I can share is that the specifications all indicate it should work. But the wildcard here is 3rd party lens from 15 years ago or more. I tried to use a Tamron 90mm F-mount (the most...

    Color problem

If auto white balance is not cutting it with an indoor performance like this, you will have to learn how to set a custom white balance for the event venue lights. Or shoot Raw+Jpeg and correct white balance in post.

    DX Lens on a Z Full-frame Body?

Your Z5 has IBIS (In Body Image Stabilization) so you are not really losing VR with Tamron. But you would have to cycle on or off through the i-menu instead of a physical switch on a lens.

    Lisa’s Photos

Forgive me for uninvited criticism. In general, it is easier in post-production editing to make a dark photo lighter than it is to make a light photo darker. Once detail is lost in a light-colored area, it cannot be recovered. So aim for being a little dark if you are not afraid to correct it...

    Nikon lens interchangability

@Lisa Zee : I also have the Sigma 150-600mm C lens. I have used it on my Z5 with FTZ-II adapter, as well as my D750 and previously with a D7000 body. The lens is fully compatible with any auto mode the Z body has, no different to use than the F-mount D750 and D7000. I like to photograph birds...

    DX Lens on a Z Full-frame Body?

I have another option here. KEH has 3 of these (used) in stock right now just under $400. Z-mount, full frame 70-300mm by Tamron. https://www.cameralabs.com/tamron-70-300mm-f4-5-6-3-di-iii-review/

    NX Studio 2024

It's a fair question. You can choose ISO, shutter, or focal length. Not aperture. I have mostly stopped using NX Studio in favor of DigiKam. But that product does not even give as many sort options as NX Studio, and definitely not aperture. Who has a Facebook page for Nikon software development?
