Here's a larger crop from both: Rokinon Nikkor What I notice is that the Bokeh is much smoother with the Rokinon compared to the Nikkor 1.8 D.

For those interested, here is a quick and dirty comparison shot done with the Rokinon @ 1.8 and the 85 1.8 D @ 1.8. No sharpening 100% crop of the center of the frame of D700. Rokinon Nikkor

I'll put my pride away for now and post the first one I did today even if I back focused it. I tried to cheat with post processing and was able to make it a little better, but at 1.4, the focus plane is almost paper thin.

Well I got the lens this morning. What a fast service from Amazon.ca (ordered friday 3.15pm). Here's a 100% crop of my counter cleaning rag that was drying outside on my clothesline. D7000 @ 1.4. I'm impressed, really.

I just got the Rokinon 85 1.4 this morning and I have to admit it's really nice for the price. Manual focus but sharp even at 1.4. Here's one of my first shots with it at 1.4

One more time with this time hand held at f4, iso still 400, 1/30s. Opened with Apple Viewer, transfered to CS5 to remove exif and resized to 1000x1000 240 dpi.
