I wouldn't necessarily remove catch lights, as they're often fantastic for setting a pic apart from the rest, but the position and size in this pic is the only "MINOR" detail that detracts from it. They seem to be right over the pupil, so that desired detail is lost. FANTASTIC shot, though...

Finally got it to fire the way I was wanting... mostly. Need to go out and get some triple A's for my RF trigger set. :) Any thoughts? It's late night, so the edit may just be plain out nuts. SB700 firing through a white umbrella.

On flash, my SB700 is putting out fantastic light. Taking it off and running in commander mode, it's MUCH dimmer... (D7100 in cmd mode, SB700 in slave mode, on-board flash as the trigger, all other camera settings exactly the same). What am I doing wrong?

Of all my shots, even the macros that I adored, this one tops it for me I think. It appeals to me, at least, if nobody else... :)

Finally, some toying around with light painting. These were 15 second exposures in a dark living room. The only light came from a penlight passed over the violin... I love the way subjects stand out when done this way. Same basic shots, different lighting on each one... mediocre at best...

Then, using the Raynox again, a goofy attempt to be "artsy". I call it Shadows of Life.

Just a few things I've been goofing around with lately. 1st a couple of up close macro shots of BuckyBalls! One is a mixed color set (black/orange), and the other is my son's set that's all chrome. GREAT TOYS, no longer available except obscure internet places...

1) OUCH. 2) There are times when I'm shooting macro, and there is no way in hell a tripod will fit where I'm going, or can be set up fast enough to catch the subject I'm after. (Try telling a jumping spider to wait a few minutes while you get a tripod into the bushes and lined up properly) 3)...

Worked this time around. Earlier, the site would show the correct total, but when porting to Paypal it was showing $0.00. This time it opened PayPal with the correct amount and all is well! (P.S. I won't tell @SteveL54 how fast you got them to me... these are GREAT!!! ;) ;) )

This little jumper wouldn't come out and pose for me, so I stuck my bald head into the bushes and got what I could. Isn't he CUTE!?
