Ok, how about a few faves? This last pic ended up being my overall favorite of the Naples sunset shots.

Here's some more sunset shots though... A teaser of my "full orb" shots. ;) An area, the rougher spot between the tides I'm thinking, where the ocean had eaten away at the pilings. Converted a couple to a nice B&W just because I could. ...and was trying a little "sunset in focus"...

Ok, here's a few tastes of the sunset so I'm not considered a tease, although I'm saving some of the better ones... ;) I took as many pics as I could, from every angle I could. Zoomed in... Zoomed in further... Zoomed out... Waded out and squatting... EVERY angle! MORE to come!

ALMOST to the Naples sunset pics. ;) 1st though, a couple of white egrets that were hanging around (fisherman catching bait fish in the surf helped), so I took the opportunity to catch a couple of shots. Found this great old dock/pier where just the pilings were left just as sunset started...

Do any of you display photos on a digital photo frame? There are LOTS of pics I'd like to have at my desk (to remind myself why I'm here, at times) but don't want to print and frame all of those pics, so have been considering a digital photo frame. I thought to myself, "Self, surely there are...

Ok, time to start some of the pics from the Naples side. 1st, caught this boat next to the path I took to get to the beach. Color and B&W edits. Then caught these white ibis roaming the beach. Thought the footprints were cool... ...and another sandpiper, with more cool footprints.

Went to Dania Beach to eat at the Quarterdeck restaurant that's actually on a pier out over the surf. Before we went in, though, I caught a pic of these two paddle-boarders. Lobster night! 1.5lb lobster and side for $13.50, can't beat it! (no pics of the food, sorry!) Then went back...

ALSO a biker, and I'll second the great tip from @RocketCowboy. No matter what gloves you're wearing, put 'em on over a pair of the latex gloves (surgeon/sanitary style). So little added bulk, so MUCH added benefit!

As far as layering a color over a B&W for that gritty shaprness? Here's one that shows the before/after. Layering for sharpness As far as the process? I create a nice contrast-y B&W, open it up in PS, throw the color layer over the top of it, and play with blending levels until it feels...

More Key West My Dad and his wife enjoying the sunset. Lots of folks were gathered around this guy, but I was too busy snapping shots to hear what he was shouting to the crowds. A dreamier sailboat shot. The only REAL way to get around AND find parking in Key West... LOL Key West...

Few more from key west. First is 3 different edits of the the same shot. I waiver between all 3 as a fave... what a horrid dilemma! LOL :) Then a different sailboat in front of the sunset colors... And a gull that had the best seat in the house... (if you don't mind the poo)

As promised, away from bird pics for a min. We took a drive down to Key West, and I'll start with a couple of VERY FAR AWAY kite-boarders we spotted on the way down. Quick turn around, a few quick shots, and we were back on our way... Then there's this street musician who was playing at...

ALMOST away from the bird pics for a while. Sorry, just love the beach birds. ;) I didn't feel so bad about being bald on the beach with these two Sandwich Terns hanging out. ;) At least I didn't have the "bird's nest" hairdo. A different shot of the brown gull. VERY pretty coloring...

So... while snapping pics of some STUNNING sunsets and beach skies, I noticed the dreaded "dust spots of doom". Same place every time, small round spots (easily removed in PS CC, btw) and irritating. I have NEVER cleaned my sensor before, but am willing to give it a go, but I'm wondering...

Day 232 - Bonding... Father/Son times are so much different than when I was a kid, but I cherish every moment.
