A few shots from the beach lately. Have not taken too many photos these last couple of months. Have enjoyed it, but will be taking the camera back up soon I am sure as I find myself thinking of it more.
See the osprey nest in this last shot? The osprey flew off the nest, across to the beach and caught a fish right in front of me. I couldn't get the big lens on fast enough to get a shot of it Missed out by THAT much
Wow. Didn't realise it's been so long since I last dropped in. I really haven't done too much photography in the last few months. Didn't realise I would need such a long break, but there you are.
I have found a couple of localish ladies that like photographing birds, so have been out of a few field trips with them now and we like each others company it seems so it will be a regular thing. Anyway, yesterday we went whale watching. The whales weren't very active but we did at least see some, and than after we visited a known osprey nest.
This week I went with my lady photographer friends to the beach to catch some sunset shots. It's not something I do often and I had a great time even though we got covered in salt spray, I lost the eyepiece off my camera, and I dropped my camera in the wet sand.
The best of my shots
One of the sculptures that lives along the beach
The airport not far away. Tried to catch the plane all the way from behind the buildings but failed.
I dragged my sorry self out of bed at 3am again last Saturday to go to the beach for sunrise. I'm always glad I've made the effort even though I absolutely HATE getting out of bed in the dark. So here are a few shots I took
This last one is my first effort of processing by image blending. I'm still struggling to understand what I am actually doing at times but I find working with layers so much easier these days, so something is actually staying in the grey matter
Long story attached to all this so I won't bore you with it but my partner and myself finally got the chance to spend some time away on our boat.
The weather didn't play nice. It rained every day and the wind was fierce. We also had some equipment problems....flattened both batteries and the bushes on the rudder flogged out in the heavy conditions. We ended up spending most of our time in the marina, but just getting away was great and marine life was soooooo relaxing.
Spent some time chasing the feathered residents of the marina
Our little dog. We had to drag her onto the boat and tie her on to stop her trying to escape. By the end of the week she was like an old boat dog. Totally chilled out
