That's the same thing I would do. I have a great brick and mortar store just 20 minutes away. They are always there to help!

Pretty much self explanatory. Shipping it back to Nikon ASAP. Around 8000 clicks and 6 months. Way to go Nikon!

That would make me absolutely sick to my stomach. Sorry to hear that. Hope for a speedy return. I know Stuff breaks and I am glad you have you D7100, but it is still tough when this break.

Uh oh, so sorry to see that. I also had a D7100 and a d7000 and they were beasts, I just noticed some possible dust on my used d600 I bought yesterday. Hopefully it's nothing.

Thats one reason why i stick with my local dealer,i wouldn't even pack the camera up,just take it to him,let him sort it.

That is a big part of why I stopped buying bodies off Amazon and use local dealers. Much prefer the relationship over anonymity when/if service is needed.

Hoping for a speedy recovery. Should I send a get well card to her?
No. Dolly's a country gal. She doesn't need you rock and roll types coming around here with your city slicker ways. graphics-beavis-and-butthead-767802.gif

Looks like you where just the one with bad luck,i put the question about Shutter failure on another forum with a very active D750 thread, one guy thought he could remember someone having a shutter problem,so its sounds good for the D750 if not for you.

I'm about to head to a show (NAMM) where I will literally take thousands of photos over three days - I'll be using the D750.....now I'm paranoid... :p (taking the D7100 as a backup tho....)

You're going to NAMM? I'm very envious!! Have fun.

And, always bring a spare to events like this!

Very cool! I got to go to Nashville NAMM back in '98 or '99 as a guest of Yamaha, and thoroughly enjoyed it. I also was interested in the drum side of things, where the music store I was connected with were more guitar dudes.

Looking forward to seeing your images!

Thanks....yeah...I need to go to the Nashville show one year - I have a lot of friends down there and family too...cameras are packed - debating what lenses I want to lug around...24-70 2.8 is a given....outside of that I'm having some internal debate (mainly one of "do I really want to lug around heavy stuff all day)....

Anyway - sorry to derail the OP's thread... :p

Update!! Breaking news!!

Dolly has arrived in Melville NY at 8 am this morning. She is in good spirits, but does need a shot of Tennessee moonshine after being cooped up in a UPS truck.
