Day 343, 2013 - Winter

I continue to be impressed with my D7100. This was shot at 10:00 at night, ISO 200, f/5, 55mm, 8" exposure, on the 55-200mm kit lens. No noise reduction.

Day 345, 2013 - Button

It's just a button. I was a little stumped for something to shoot. Saw this button on my extreme cold weather coat and decided to shoot it. So there it is... a button.

Day 346, 2013 - Man Wrapping vs. Woman Wrapping

My wife is Santa's primary wrapping elf. She goes way overboard every year and I think we have more money in present wrapping paper/bows/ribbons than the gifts themselves. I on the other hand have drawn the line and explained that I do not wrap presents. However, in a moment of weakness, my wife asked me to wrap some metal cut-off blades and I obliged. On the left a man gift wrapping. To the right and all others in the picture would be the wife wrapping.

Merry Christmas everyone. For me, Christmas is in three days!

nice job! I think a little duct tape would have set off the silver in the bow. And maybe a smidgen of black electrical tape for contrast.

Now I have to ask. Why so early?

I fly my daughter out to California each year to spend Christmas with her mom over her school break. It actually works out really well and wished I had started doing this a long time ago. By having Christmas (the present side of it) at the beginning of the Christmas breaks our kids would have their gifts for the full Christmas break rather than just that last weekend before returning to school. Then, on actual Christmas day, we could celebrate the day for its real meaning without the competition of the gift side of it. We started doing this about 4-5 years ago and everyone really loves it. Essentially, we made two holidays out of one.

While the suggestions are very much in the manly spirit of Christmas... the effort side of it is exceeding my capabilities.

Day 347, 2013 - Memory Stick

Nothing great about this photo, nor was I going to try. I shared it because I found this old memory stick from my very first digital camera - a Sony. At the time, this was the BIG memory stick for the camera. A whole 64 mb. Just thought I would share this blast from the digital past.
