Day 60, 2013 - Topaz

Here in Utah we have a number of minerals due to the previous volcanic activity a long time ago. Here is a bunch of raw topaz and smoky topaz we collected a few years ago.

Only one we found while out rock-hounding for topaz. Size is about 3/4 of a marble.

Looks warm. I have only shot about 650 snaps with my D5100 so far but I am blown away by it so far.

Visited the airport I live by and the inside was amazing. Since I live right next door I will be visiting their often for daily pictures to share what's there.

Day 69, 2013 - Grumpy Dog

Focus isn't what I wanted, could have been much sharper, but photographing Bigfoot is easier.

I call this picture Grumpy Dog from the look on her face. I managed to get this shot because she woke up as I walked into the backyard. She had sat up and it wasn't registering in her freshly waken brain that the camera was on her.

Day 72, 2013 - Soccer

I hate soccer. While living in Europe I figured everyone else must find it as painful as I did because it seemed like every game ended with the fans brawling in the streets or vandalizing everything. However, it is something new to shoot and learn to do. It seems as though the key to shooting soccer is to follow the ball and whenever people come together just start rapid firing the pictures in the hopes of catching something good. So of the kazillion shots I did I really liked this one.

Day 73, 2013 - Bicycle Computer

The internet is back this morning, thank you Al Gore.

The last time I looked at this computer was on my final lap of the 24 Hours of Moab bicycle race - pain! However, it's summer and my scars have healed.
