Day 193, 2013 - Guitar

Catching up with all the renovating the wife and I are doing.

Here is a picture from my daughters guitar. The lighting was brutal!

Day 194, 2013 - Guitar

Another shot in the same room with the same lousy lighting. LOL! Unfortunately, with all the renovating time leaves me little play time.

Day 196, 2013 - Cars

Had a bit of time to actually sit down and breathe for a while so I sat on the corner to shoot motorcycles, but found interesting cars to shoot instead.

Day 197, 2013 - Looking at food too close.

Looking too close at this food item and it looks very similar to Styrofoam. To see the identity of this food item highlight the text inside the parenthesis (Popcorn).

Day 198, 2013 - Ivy Leaves

I decided to go out to my shop and cover the green screen wall and shoot a close-up plant shot with a black background. This one was a bit difficult due to the natural shine/reflection of the Ivy leaf.

Day 199, 2013 - Flower

Trying to improve upon yesterdays shot, choosing a plant that isn't reflective. Not sure what this flower is, and while it's not reflective like yesterdays Ivy, the center of the flower has a white area that looks blown out and blurry. However, that is what it looks like. Time to look for a flower that will cooperate better. :)

Day 200, 2013 - Starburst

I call this shot Starburst because it looks like a shot you might see from space. However, it is actually the moon with the right atmospheric conditions. I absolutely LOVE this shot and am proud of it. Truth be told though, I can't take a whole lot of credit. This shot was more of a mad scientist standing there in the dark playing with my camera. Even though I knew how to take a moon shot I sat there messing around with adding a little newts eye, take out the wing of bat, and so on just to see what would happen as I broke the know how rules.

Post processing was a matter of raising the contrast between light and dark, getting rid of the filth (color) of city lights (I was actually in the city park), and then sharpening to again increase the contrast between light and dark and not to much to sharpen the image.

Other than feeling the lag of staying up past midnight, and my bedtime, to take this picture, it was just fun to do and worth the bit of lag I feel today. And why is it that bedtime for adults is always earlier than it is for our older children? :)

Click the picture to see the detail of the stars, the thumbnail is too small.

Day 201, 2013 - Speckled Flower

The picture is a little busier than I would like, but I didn't want to trespass and the whole collage of plants really didn't lend itself to separating it from it's setting. However, the flower is beautiful and I took what I could get.

Day 202, 2013 - Wasp

I found this dead wasp and thought it would lend itself to getting a picture that would not otherwise be possible.

Continued... Day 203 - Sunset

Forgot to put this one up last night. Went out to shoot the full moon rising over the mountains when it all went bad as clouds and haze suddenly moved in. However, in exactly the opposite direction the sun was setting and those clouds and fire haze made for a spectacular sunset that quickly accumulated spectators shooting the sunset on their cell phones.
