Nice shots George.... you said RC, if you can get it with wheels spinning, it will really be dramatic!! :)

I like the shots... You are correct, it does look harder!

LOL :)

Problem 1. Working both the controller and the camera.

Problem 2. Only rear wheel drive.

My wife laughs at me because sometimes I'm out there shooting dumb stuff like the RC Jeep, but I figure who knows when this skill might come in handy. Then again, maybe I'm just dumb.

Day 184, 2013 - Labor of Love

Two days of work and I completed this monstrous book shelf for my wife. It measures a little more than 8' x 8' (2.5 meters x 2.5 meters). It has enough storage capacity that she can now get rid of all her other book shelves freeing up room in her classroom. I suspect she will love me for a little bit longer now.

You can never have too much bookcase space in a classroom. I wish I had more. They took away a big chunk of my bookcases when they installed the smartboard.

Day 185, 2013 - Fireworks

I have been doing this photography for a while and the Project 365 from the beginning of the year. Later on, a few months ago, my wife MoabLady decided to join me and I purchased her a camera. Over time I have been teaching her the mechanics of how to take her picture and to edit them. And I know sometimes she gets frustrated because she wants to have it all now; the know how that comes with experience. However, I have to give her credit because she has it in her to think out of the box and come up with some great ideas. For example, tonight we were heading out to shoot the fireworks. I hadn't done it, but had some ideas, and I did a quick search on Nikonites for some ideas to get us in the ballpark on getting some decent shots. So there we are shooting and were set up with some of the basic suggested settings when she gets an idea... "I wonder what a thirty second exposure would be like?" I told her I had no idea but go ahead and give it a try and lets see what it looks like. Let me tell you, we got some spectacular shots and she nailed it on the head. Following her lead we cranked up the aperture to f16-22, ISO 100, and varied the shutter time from 10 to 30 seconds based on the intensity of the fireworks.

Credit to my lovely wife, MoabLady. We both left with some spectacular shots and the credit goes entirely to her tonight for leading the way.

Went out to try and shoot some of the lightning in the storm (there are actually mountains in the distance but covered in a downpour)... it is harder than it looks. Think I have to do it at night. However, I did catch this picture of the house and it had this cool miniature affect to it so here it is.
