I guess there's more coming and I look forward to it!

In time, I like to mix things up. I think there is nine total in the area three or four in my town. I would have to look it up again.

So excited, today we are driving back to our hometown to pick up our three Grandchildren who are in from Georgia and are spending the summer with two sets of grandparents. We get to have them on my weekends. We only seen them a handful of times and now they get to spend the weekend and lots of time with "Grampy" & "Nonna" So you all know what we are going to be posting the next few days. :D

You know, with all this talk about propane, methane and rectane...

I am just about terrified what BIG BANG 3 is gonna look like!

We do have our own Big Bang down in Wilmington.

We call her by her proper name though.

The USS North Carolina. I'll get some pictures of the old gal on my next trip down!

Day 174
Grampy's Little Engineer

Normally I write my description to fit my Nikonites page and my Facebook friends have to suffer. Today it's going to be reversed.

Four hour round trip and we made it home with all three Grandchildren. Aiden posses for Grampy in his first Engineers Hat. Right now everyone is watching Megamind on DVD, so I have time to sneak away and post a fast photo. Then I'm off to the couch to watch the movie with them while we wait for Pizza to be delivered. After dinner just enjoying each other and getting settled in watching movies and stuff. Tomorrow, if the weather is dry, I hope to take them (Aiden for sure) to the Railroad Park. We are hoping to shoot some pictures of the three of them in a little DIY studio we set up. We will see how things go, no plans, just taking things as they come and having fun. It's great to have them for a change!

Nice shot Rick. I like the light and the focus. And the filters you used on it PP? :)

On camera SB700 fired straight up.

Workflow:

CS5:
Crop to tighten up shot for portrait. 8 x 10 eyes set to just below the Rule of thirds
Highpass filter - Radius 4.0, @Vivid light @100%

Lightroom:
Highlight recovery for slight over exposure on face.
Sharpening and clarity to taste
Little noise reduction to clean up back round
Watermark

This is an awesome shot of the young fellah, Rick! This is a keeper, for sure! The capture, lighting, composition....everything spot on. Love it!

Oh....and I fixed your habit of typing "shot" instead of "shoot" again. :)

Hey.........you said Nona? Does this mean Christine is Italian? :) Cool! :) My wife is Italian, too. :)

Day 176
Katelyn

Katelyn gets the "Ice Cream" card in Candyland. Of all three of them she has been the hardest to shoot.

So that's my three Grandchildren.:D Until next week Thursday I will return you to my normal 365.

These grand children will make you a rich man Rick. They are so lovely and they will bring you a lot more joy and happiness than any money would. Enjoy their presence with you. Flavor every second.
