Day 22
What's more fun then a Barrel of Monkeys?

A Bucket of Soldiers. I'm sure I'm going to date myself here but I can remember playing with these as a kid. If I remember right they came in a plastic bag, of course at that time everything came in a plastic bag. Thanks to the Toy Story movies you can find them again just as they were years ago. Not the same price that's for sure, think we paid like $15 for this bucket of 72. Had a lot of fun setting this shot up, brought back a lot of memories. Think I'm going to ask if I can go over to my best friends house and play Army. Hope mom say's it's ok. If not I think I'm going to play Mouse Trap for a while and flip my little Army men off the Teeter Totter.

Day 23
THEIF

I bet you that Squirrel is eating all my bird feed again.

You talking to me?

Yeah I know only one picture per day. Spank me I've been naughty. Sorry I love both of these photos and had to post both. On the first one of "it" on the bird feeder there is a tree on the left that ran up and down the left side in the Bokeh. Cropping it out cut out part of the Squirrel whiskers. So in lightroom I added a +30 black vignette to help blend it in, I like it.

Sitting inside my warm house about 8 feet away with my 55-200mm Lens.

Day 24
Do you feel a cold draft?

How would you do a lens correction on this? I don't know which one is leaning more the barn or the pole. I think one good gust of wind and barn is going to fall over. Nothing exciting here today move along please, see what I can come up with tomorrow got a few ideas but they never turn out the way I see them in my mind. As you can see the weather is not working with me. Couple of party cloudy days in the 10-day but not getting my hopes up on being up during those hours. Maybe time to get out and do some night shots and post late. Ah, I'm rambling again time to go back to bed.

Day 25
This is a test and only a test

So we went out and bought some Orchids today. Not totally in bloom yet so I'm going to wait till they all open up before I shoot them and post. Been playing around with a DIY light system and some white and black fabric. So here is my first shot with everything up and running. Used fake flowers for this shot. DIY lighting is 3 "Blue light natural" 75 watt bulbs mounted in clip on reflector lights. (the kind you find at the auto store that look like UFO's) Not a lot of time to play today. Thinking about mounting dimmers on each bulb to get more control other than turning them away from the subject. My light percent on this shot was all three at 100% and I know it's the wrong setting, but in a hurry today to shoot and post. Not bad for $30. Something I'm going to be playing with till next year when maybe I buy some real lights / flash units.

Pretty good, Rick, considering you did it in a hurry. You can also put a white sheet in front of the lights to diffuse it.

Squirrel shots are fantastic! Excellent detail!

Love your barn shot! Good for you for getting outside in the cold!

Day 21
What's playing tonight at the Matchbox Imax Drive-in?

I'll save you the trouble. There's about 85 cars use here, don't forget the high speed Police chase under the screen.

This shot was done in the dark, only using the light from the TV screen to light up the cars. I'm getting these great ideas for shots but having a hard time getting the vision in my head into a photo. This is not exactly what I had in mind but pretty close. At least I got the lighting I was looking for coming from the TV.

Haha, that's awesome

Day 27
Defeated

Can't beat it, join it. Snow snow go away! You're killing me. Someone remind me of this six months from now when I'm complaining how bloody hot it is, ok? What doesn't' t help is I'm not feeling well today starting a cold, so I'm taking the easy way out.

Day 28
Oh no you don't

This is Sunglasses a 7year old female Maine Coon. Also known as "The Queen" She has no problem throwing her weight around to get her way. When she was a newborn kitten she had an all black face and white circles around her eyes...... "Sunglasses".

I WAS going to do something in the basement today with my black backdrop but she kept walking in and out of my shot on the table, getting cat hair and dirty paws prints all over. So I cleared off what I had set up and wound up shooting her instead. She was very persistent about been the subject today for my 365 Project. I have 3 cat and 2 dogs, both Toy Pomeranians, and puppies on the way and due in March. I'm sure sooner or later they all will be posted.

I absolutely love this shot.... She is a beautiful cat and you captured her at her best, as for the throwing her weight around this is true. Great job.
