Day 142
Got one?

Storm Chasing today in my back yard. This storm was Tornado warned. Don't know if it was the start of a Tornado or not, but something was spinning for about 6 minutes. Then it was gone. I chased it for a while, but nothing never came back. After shooting the Vortex on the way home I blew a hose on the car. So when the second round of storms came in I was stuck shooting from the house for the lightning photo. Hope to have the car fix for tomorrow night, may have a chance to do it again.

Sorry about the triple post, it was an exciting day for me.

Until this morning when I woke up I had no idea while I was out chasing these two storms, what was transpiring in Missouri about the same time.

My thoughts and prayers are with the people of Joplin, Missouri.

Day 143
For the Birds

Take apart the car, get parts, and put the car back together. Take apart the other car, get parts, and put it back together. You know what? This day has been for the birds. So here today's photo.

On a good note, "Chase 1" should be up and running now, so no more chasing storms in the convertible. A little nerve racking the two times I did it, but it added to the thrill. At least now I'll be under a hard top.

You are in storm central. Saw a tornado (way off in the distance) years ago when I was visiting Missouri. It was exciting. Hope you get to capture the real thing (without any mishaps).

Nice shot Rick, but you wouldn't catch me fishing with a graphite rod waiting for a storm...
