Ok, so I posted here a couple of weeks ago about how I was tempted at a B&M store when the sales clerk handed me a D750 with a 200-500 5.6 mounted on it and took me outside to try it out.

Well, today, I took my D7100 and an 80-200 f2.8 lens that I've not used for a long time to see what they would give me on trade-in on them. I ended my trip with a net loss of one lens and some cash. I walked out of the store with a D750, feeling like I got a great deal.

Congrats! The D750 is an amazing camera. ;) What lens is that on your D750? I know Nikon offers a package with a 24mm-120mm f/4, but that hood looks too long for the wide end of that lens. Just wondering....

They didn't have the kit with the xx-120 lens, only the camera body, so I did not have a choice of it. The lens on the camera in the photo is my AF-S Micro 105 2.8. I really like that lens on a FX body.

2016 has not been kind, so I haven't had the camera out much at all. Did some dabbling with the flowers that are only around for 3 weeks or so, and have taken a snapshot here and there, but the life-enjoyment hobby has all but been stagnant. Then, messing with my new macro lens, I've discovered sensor spots.

Time to climb up out of my wallow, though, so ordered the following so I can get back into it, starting with spot management! Got a Giottos Rocket Air Blower (replacing my off-brand from the local shop), an APS-C wet-cleaning kit, and a Sensor Gel Stick (have heard good things about these). I figure a guaranteed clean blast of air should fix most things, then the Gel Stick can catch most of the rest. The wet-clean kit will be a "final effort" when needed. Also taking another stab at a light stand. 10', air cushioned, and not a bad price, so there we go. Once I get it, I'm going back through Zack Arias's Onelight 2.0 videos and work on stepping up my inside lighting shots. Did I mention that I got it all for 20 bucks? (Thanks to the stack of Amazon rewards points I had built up, anyway)

Then... well, we'll see where we go. It can only be up from here.

We have a thread like this going on a mustang forum I'm on and I find it kinda fun.

I'll start.

Cameron ND fader filter 67mm, multi coated
View attachment 32121......
Hopefully we can have a little fun with this and see what others are interested in.

Blast from past - just noticed this one.
Thinking of the Cameron ND Fader (one of many - may post a "help me pick my fader" post).
How has this worked out for you over the past few years?

Henry's.com sells them in Canada - $149 for the 82mm I need. (that 67 is $120).

So, I went online to register my D750 today and saw that Nikon has a premium going on for D750 purchases: a free MB-D16 with the purchase of a D750. I didn't see anything about how to get one, so I called NikonUSA this evening to find out, and sure enough, I am not eligible because I purchased the camera the day before the offer started.:p Oh, well, I guess I'm saving my good luck for when I buy a lottery ticket!!

For the rest of you looking to purchase one, or another Nikon camera, watch the Nikon web site for premium offerings!!

Wow, what a package! I've never heard of Nikon doing this with a camera body previously. Too bad you missed it by a day. Sheesh!

I'd send the camera back for a refund. Then buy another & get the free MB-D16 with it. What a bunch of tools, they should have given you that MB-D16.

The store is 6-7 hours away, and I don't think I can get it to them in time for that. I could ask them to pull some kind of a rabbit out of a hat with me ending up with a new receipt, but I won't. Besides, I've already registered the camera with Nikon, and I'll bet they would sniff it out in a heartbeat and refuse to offer the drive to me.

Anyway, I don't get the free MB-D16, but I still got a great deal on the camera. :D

The best deals I can remember from Nikon relate to lenses included in a package. The D750 MB-D16 deal is surprising, although it seems likely to do with the slow sales of the MB-D16. I've heard from more than one source that this battery pack is a slow seller mainly due to its price.

My hope is that after some of them end up in the hands of people who have never had one before, that they start to show up for sale second-hand. (The premium is showing up on B&H web site.)

Yep, I missed it by one day. As the lawyers say, time is of the essence!!

I feel for ya buddy. I spent a fortune on my D800E's battery grip OEM and D4 battery packs and charger, going full out. I think combined it all cost me about $800.00! Then I added a $200.00 kirk L bracket! But I am so happy I did it all and I'm loving my decked out D800e!

So I can imagine how you might love having your D750 all decked out with an OEM battery grip and with a good L bracket to fit your D750 with grip on it!:)

You know your are right WM, not everyone likes a grip... there are bound to be some that take them just to sell them. Hopefully at a cheap price.
