Very nice Pat... Very Nice. Never owned a Gold Wing, but had the opportunity to ride several. Lots of my friends had them. I really like the newer models. Nice low Center of Gravity. They handle like a dream with plenty of juice to get you through the twisty roads. But I gotta know what the tank is for...

Thanks Danno.. I love the Wing ... The "tank" is a 3.75 Gallon auxiliary fuel cell... designed for increased range when riding distances.

Did that Goldwing come from Florida? I think I know the previous owner. I also have a matching Cape Fear rally sticker on the windshield of my BMW, but only got to ride in that rally one year.

I'm sure you'll enjoy that ride!

It is actually from GA but I think he may have started the Cape Fear from Florida... He lives right here in Pooler GA, his name is Phil.

I went back and looked at Greg's pictures, and while he did just switch from the Wing to an RT, this wasn't the color scheme he had that I remembered.

Regardless, very cool! Looking forward to the images you get from that ride!

Iron Butt decals go on the license plate, although I've also seen the police officer behind me start doing the math on 1500 miles in 24 hours.

I did not know that. But I have never done one of those. I have made long rides. Just never could get any of the guys I ride with to go with me. I never thought of the law doing the math either... interesting thought.

The License Plate has an IBA Plate Backer... as below...

Some stickers SS 1000, Mile Eater BB Gold etc may be placed on a bike but the most common is the backer plate.

The math comes out to "legal limit" if you use the full amount of time. 1000 in 24 is 41 mph ave, 1500 in 24 is 62.5.

The IBA will NOT Certify a ride that cannot be completed with legal limits.. (not saying all do, but if it cannot be done, it will not be certified)

I'm an ex GWRRA member, and had a number of Gold Wings during my riding years. My first was an '83 Aspencade and my last one was a '91 Aspencade. Had about 4 in between those. :) I sure miss them. Did a couple of 3 Flag Classics back in the late 80's and early 90's. :)

Been thinking about getting a macro lens for a little while now. Got this one because it's cheap, but really good for the price and I don't have any interest in shooting insects so the limited focal length isn't an issue.

Ok, so I posted here a couple of weeks ago about how I was tempted at a B&M store when the sales clerk handed me a D750 with a 200-500 5.6 mounted on it and took me outside to try it out.

Well, today, I took my D7100 and an 80-200 f2.8 lens that I've not used for a long time to see what they would give me on trade-in on them. I ended my trip with a net loss of one lens and some cash. I walked out of the store with a D750, feeling like I got a great deal.
