Just arrived at the door step, a nice Adorama box and a funny look from the wife as I ran out to the garage pretending Nothing was in front of me. What arrived? A Canon 500D close up lens. It's a screw on lens for use on a 70-300mm range lens for close up shots. Plus a 1-8 stop variable Cokin ND filter. I'll post some shots as I get some.

After over a year of lugging around the rather heavy Slik Pro700 tripod I decided enough was enough and bought a carbon fibre set of legs and a ball head:

Been a while but brushed the cobwebs off the money box and splashed out on;

Do let us know how those YN-622N's work out for you, been eyeing those myself and am thinking I might want to get a YN set up. I have two flashes now and would by one of the YN flashes to make it a triad

Hit one of the local camera stores yesterday for a second EN-EL15 battery and a reflective Wescott umbrella.

I'm afraid I can't do that but I could send an empty wallet instead. If interested, feel free to send me the info ;)

I'm taking her for a ride and the first thing I noticed is that she's unforgiving. Handheld manual focus without VR results in the sort of fuzziness Hamilton would be jealous of.

Just some small things for now, flash bracket with TTL cord, bubble level, Hot shoe cover - Dont ask, SD Card Case, Blackrapid - fastener and Lockstar - Like the idea of the lockstar so thought I would give it a shot and then a new backpack.

What Nikon DSLR model do you have?

Lol That is the same thing I did! :) But I think you'll find yourself changing or upgrading your DSLR sooner than you may be planning. Because manual focusing AF lenses sucks in my opinion. The old ai lenses are much better manual focusing. But moving to a DSLR body with a built in focus motor will really be a huge relief after manual focusing the AF lenses all the time.
I've found that AF lenses are harder to get into and keep into focus than ai lenses. When I bought the D90 it made those lenses work so much better, due to that built in focus motor.

But I applaud you, as I did the same planning ahead of time! And I'm very happy I did by the way! :D

Now the D3300 but I buy all glass with an upgrade in mind.
