"? You've got now an excellent camera to play with, or to use it at home, for some nice shooting around your neighborhood, and a Nikon1 is always with you, even when traveling for work and back:cool:...

I'm in the middle of a huge global project and haven't had an opportunity to get out with the new kit. Hopefully tomorrow for a while.

I also bought the ASUS Memo PAD FHD 10....I was saving up for an Ipad Air but prefer Android OS and the fact the asus accepts external memory cards. I just want something to web browse and read the tons of books I have in electronic format.

Congratulations Don. Be interested in how that 18-140 lens can do. It is a very tempting focal length spread. Tokina had a 16-135 but it did not seems to be successful.

Lets see. I recently purchased a Manfrotto 055XPROB. A Vanguard SBH-250. 2 spare batteries for the D610 (aftermarket). And yesterday an 24" Asus monitor for the computer. (great sale price)

Very useful link Don. It is interesting to note how different lenses fair on different bodies. That is something to consider on my next lens purchase. Thanks

Nikon 18-140mm is, practically, a revamped 18-135mm - VR added, metal bayonet instead of plastic. Being such, it exhibits the 18-135mm's major problems: very high level of barrel distortion at 18mm (4 degrees, uncorrected), a high level of vignetting and a high level of CA. Nikon 16-85mm DX keeps the number 1 position among the "all-around" DX lenses, followed by 18-70mm (which, alas!, does not have a VR).
But, 18-140mm is still a nice lens for casual shooting...

Yesterday I purchased a cheap (20$) battery replacement for D7000:
