Today wasn't as nice as yesterday so, unfortunately, these are inside shots. And yes, there is the obligatory feline photo warning for 2 of the 3 photos. :) All three photos were taken with my AF 105 f/2.8 Micro-Nikkor lens. I love that lens. I did use the on-camera flash, for convenience.

This is a photo of Jocko, a small (about 4 inches/10 cm long) Steiff chimp that I have had since I was about 7 or 8 years old.

You have been warned... Opportunistic feline photos of, who else, Creature. :) She was sitting on the back of a chair looking down at something. I'm not sure what she was looking at, but as cat owners know, cats tend to see things no one else sees.

With all the dreary winter weather continuing, I decided that a bowl of fresh strawberries was in order today. Here are some BEFORE I consumed them. :)

Some days finding a photo is harder than others, then feline photo opp occurs.... You have been warned. :)

Maybe I have to stop using that 105 micro-Nikkor for a while. It's too easy to find willing subjects. :)

After a wave of cold weather, we have had a few days of weather in the high 40s & 50s (F). This caused a lot of melting and runoff. During the cold snap, a lot of rivers and creeks froze in spots. This used to happen every year, but it hasn't happened much during the past few years, so it was cool to see the ice floes. I was driving home from work this afternoon, and as I drove on bridge over Choconut Creek to get home, I noticed all the ice jammed up on the creek and under the bridge. The really cool part was watching the fog drift downstream towards me.

A view of the ice floes upstream from the bridge:

Ice floes under the bridge and downstream from the bridge.

The fog lifting off the creek was really rather neat. It would come in waves downstream.

A hole bunch of chunk of ice. Most of the big chunks were about 6" thick. Amazing for such a shallow creek.

Okay, like others in the now-back-to-cold Northeastern U.S., I did not venture out beyond going to and from work. I decided on my way home to take food photos. The first is a mug of oolong tea that I made for myself to have with dinner. Sorry for the cat on the mug without the opportunistic feline photo warning, it was not intentional. A co-worker gave me that mug this past Xmas as part of our secret Santa exchange. She also gave me a matching dog mug.

The second photo is a cluster of 4 cans of tuna. My spousal unit saw me taking a photo of the mug while he was making some tuna salad. He suggested taking the tuna can cluster photo.

I definitely need some warmer weather soon, or at least some sunny weather. Dreary, cold, cloudy weather is not conducive to taking any outdoor photos, even if the days are getting longer. :(

When it is too cold to go outside for long, I am glad I have several hobbies. I am back to my comfort zone lens. :)

Today was another one of those none too exciting winter days in Upstate New York but I did manage to get at least one photo outside.

Same image, but cropped:

Neither one excites me, but at least I got outside, froze my butt off and snapped a few photos. :)

Pat,
Thanks, so do I but I had to give the cropped one a chance. :) I try to compose in the viewfinder, so I have minimal cropping to do later. I have always done that.

I noticed that you and others have pictures with white stuff all over the ground, we don't have that here, what is it? LOL
