All you bird photographers in warmer climates inspired me to see what I could photograph. During the winter, we do not get much of a selection of birds, mainly, crows, pigeons, sparrows, chickadees and lots and lots of very aggressive, nasty, Canada geese that are not smart enough to migrate south like most of their fellow geese.

I went to a location where I know geese always hang out. Below are my first attempts at birds in flight. :)

Yes, both photos contain the same gaggle of geese. :)

Geese have flown over my house several times when I hear them I can't get a camera and get outside fast enough.

Around here, sometimes they are flying so high up that you can hear them but barely see the V formation of the flock.

I was lucky with this group. All they do is fly from one side of the field to the other.

Here is a bit of winter whimsy...

Bears in Chairs

And, of course, the opportunistic feline photo:

I Know There is Something There

Creature was looking at the dog, who was off-camera. Creature was contemplating a horrible torture that she could inflict on poor Jenny (the dog). :)

Based on my camping experience on lake Ontario, they only come to the US to go to the bathroom :)!

Okay, after an incredibly stupid day at work, this is about as far as my brain would function. I won't even give you the title. Have fun guessing. The only hint I will give you is that most people have these in their homes.

I teach high school science to at-risk adolescents at a residential treatment center. Some of the students were incredibly stupid today, then we had an even more incredibly stupid staff meeting after school was over. By the time I left, my brain had turned into a gelantinous ooze. :)

I also teach a photography elective and all one of the kids wants to do is make a "paranormal activity" video. He doesn't even want to know who to take a photo or video. Day 2 of the class and the student didn't care how a camera works. Sigh....

Photo taken from a helicopter? A bunch of white-haired old ladies waiting for the early bird special to open at Ponderosa? Yep. I bet that's it.
