The Nov 14 2016 Super - Perigee Moon
Shot in Fort Kent AB Canada - shortly after moon-rise

Perigee Full Moon -0006-DSC_4368 -1.jpg
shot with a D610

And then with a D7100
DSC_3289+Perigee Full Moon -0033.jpg

Both shot handheld - from my front lawn.

Not done as a comparison - no effort to match any of the settings - just tried out both cameras.

1 hour from first to last shot here atmospheric distortion starts to go away as it gets higher into the sky shot from So. Cal. 5:35pm - 6:10pm

Well, the light comes and goes and its pretty cold in the uk atm but here are a few more from my local patch.
I just love the 200-500vr.
In the 5 months I have owned it I have not used another lens.

How confident are those of you who are using this when shooting in the elements (dirt, dust, rain), seeing as it isn't weather sealed? I'm more interested in experiences in dirty & dusty conditions, since I live in the desert. I've restricted the use of my Tamron 150-600 (v1) to city activities, which has been annoying (don't want to risk sucking a bunch of dust into the lens). I was originally going to order the Tamron G2, but really like the idea of a constant aperture over the 100mm extra reach.

NOT CONFIDENT in those conditions. even on safari its just about ok, ill be switching back to my Nikon 200-400 for my next trip, I m not a big fan of 3rd party lenses with wide zoom ranges.
