My Nikon D810 Shots

Those were mostly shot with my D700 or D800 and a 50-500 sigma which I just sold, haven't done much serious with the tamron, just got it so just walking around and shooting anything I see (new lens syndrome) but so far it is much sharper handheld than my sigma (non os) was on a tripod. Taking it to Alaska this summer and San Diego next month, should get something more serious than my neighbors deck.

Looking forward to seeing those Alaska and San Diego shots . . .

I have enjoyed using a D800 for two years and it is superb. Sold it on eBay last week for a good price, they hold their value well like most Nikon stuff

But....I have given in and just gone for a D810.
It arrives next week (I hope).

Just look at the specs it's a major step forward in many ways and yes it's worth the difference. IMHO. Your criteriia might be different

Congrats on the purchase Dave.
@Phillydog1958 - all great series. Nice job!

I on the other hand still loving my D800E. They are all great tools especially whenever you try to manipulate the RAW files especially when dealing with shadows.

The colors and detail of these are very nice but the composition of these have me scratching my head a little bit???? About post #6 in this thread

Those were some of my early shots. I was mainly trying to show what the camera is capable of, rather than composition. I went crazy. :D

I sure wish that you'd show your exif. Why not? Love the pictures though.

It has to do with the way I process and transfer. Sometimes the EFIX transfers, sometimes not. That's something that I have to work on. I'm eventually going to take a Photoshop class. Some of these photos do contain EFIX info. My editing skills (Photoshop and Light Room) are minimal. Last spring, I took a landscape class. This spring, I'm taking a basic photography class. Our local municipality offers such for a small fee. I take them for technical improvement and inspiration as well as the opportunity to bond with others who have this interest.

Thanks for your efforts. I try to learn by seeing the exif on the photographers, but I'm like you, still learning. I just download my file directly from the file I created during pp. They are jpegs then, and I click on the picture in the quick reply box, and then follow the instuructions. I can help you learn to copy the exif if you'd like?

I first pp and then save as a jpeg. I then go to quick reply and go to the picture icon and click on it. I then find the file and select it. I then upload the file and click on it. When I first see the picture, I click on it....that will pop up the sizes. I select large and then click. You then save the file and the size...very elementary. Believe me, if I can do it....anyone can! lol......you'll love doing it this way once you get the hang of it. Let me know if you have any other questions please. This will transfer the exif automatically. Easy peezy!

Yea, I perform that same procedure for uploading to this site. Your steps are the same as mine. My issue is moving files from post-processing software, such as Lightroom or Photoshop. I typically email it out of LR to my email account, then save to iCloud. That's where i'm losing my EFIX data. I'm sure there is a better method.
