My name is _______ and I am overweight

Decided to change the name of the thread since so many of us are in the same boat. I must say again how much I appreciate the family atmosphere and brotherly love by the group here. It is always so much better to have someone to share in the journey.

I have the impression this thread is getting a lot of matter in a short time.

Since I`m a bit more relaxed tried to change my food intake, exercise is still low though.

It is an important subject. Overweight affects your health. IF you aren't healthy then you can't shoot as much. If you are a pro then you won't make as much money. If you are a hobbyist like me then you can't get out and enjoy your camera, less exercise more weight gain. A vicious cycle for us all.

So that we all understand it better. Losing weight will make us better photographers. (At least we can think that for now LOL)

I guess we need a bald is beautiful thread here too. LOL So past shaving what little hair we have has anyone found any viable alternative?

I can still grow a full head of hair, I just prefer the baldness! ;) The only other thing I've been looking into recently is perhaps an electric razor that will work for my head. My old Norelco ($60 job) is just too rough on my head and didn't do the job well.

BTW, leg day at the gym yesterday... barely moving today. As much as I hate the dreadmill, it's gonna be worse tonight!!! The weight MUST come off!

I just use a razor blade and shave my head dry. It gets used to it.

I have a mirror that is designed to be in the shower and you fill a back compartment with hot water so it will not fog. I then wash my head good with lots of hot water and then shaving cream on the face and head and then shave. It gives a nice clean shave and all the mess is washed away down the drain.

I started shaving dry some 30 years ago in the army. It is the most practical method; you don't need anything besides a, preferably sharp, razor.

It's not pleasant at first but after some time you can go pretty rough on that skin.

I shave in the shower or sometimes with the sink but I tried Nair since I kept getting razor bumps/burn on the nape of my neck.

I think I'd die shaving dry haha.

What an interesting thread. I can honestly say that I am in the group that needs to shed a few pounds. Like someone already stated it is so much easier and quicker to put it on than it is to take it off. I have had success with various diets over the years. Once the goal is hit and maintained for a while, it gets easier to fink a little more often and the next thing you know the weight is back. Most of my life I have YoYo'd with the weight. I am now trying to get back on the downward swing. If I keep the weight down the blood pressure usually gets down to where it should be (Unless those who know better have changed/lowered what numbers are good again. Ha!) I keep hearing it is a lifestyle change that needs to happen. After 60 plus years it is hard to make a lifestyle change. Ha! As the years keep taking their toll, what else is there to do for fun and enjoyment, but to eat. Ha!

Reading all of this gave me a thought above and beyond this thread. Maybe for the next monthly photo challenge some beginning and progression"Biggest Loser" type photos...... Nah!!! Maybe not. Ha!

Good luck with the knee. I have already had the left one replaced. Best thing I ever did.
