This was taken the first day I got my camera. Just snapping, knowing nothing. Today I tried the Nx2 for the first time on this picture.

My first HDR. Not to worry, I will improve. I still don't know what to settings to use to under expose it enough.

When I had the D3100, I just used the ev button and dial to move the meter 2 stops to the right, then two to the left for my exposures. Works well until you encounter fast moving clouds, then you wish you had auto bracketing.

Thank you so much. I was using the wheel but not the button.

If You are not already, shoot in Aperature mode so when you adjust the exposure you are changing the shutter speed only. I also try to stay around f8-f11, since I think the merging process decreases the overall sharpness of the image slightly. +- 2EV usually is a good balance.

Thank you again, Rick. It is supposed to rain all day tomorrow. I am anxious to give this another try. I'm not even going to tell you what I tried to do to get 3 different exposures. LOL!

My recent F2 picture postings in my weekly thread are simulated HDRs...seems like I play with HDR more than anything nowadays...keep at it like Rick says...it is a pretty neat tool.
