That second one looks like a Maxwell Parrish...good job...I'd feel right at home at a place like that...

I had to Google Maxwell Parrish (or is that Maxfield). I love that this site has opened a whole new world for me. I thank you so much!

Good morning indeed. The color saturation alone woke me up :)

Be careful you don't get carried away with too much of a good thing (saturation) Laura. Sometimes it does not look as good.

Good composition.

Ah! Apparently I already have. LOL! I suspected that I did but I kept looking at that photo yesterday and as much as I liked it, it wasn't dramatic enough for me. I'll try to settle down a bit. I knew I was in trouble when the black started to look like blue. :D

#51 you have titled the windmill...well if you will look at how it is composed you'll note there is a windmill in the lower right part of the frame and a dominating stand of pines trees to the left in the frame...now look at how #53 is put together...you have a distant tree taking the place of the windmill and also a strong tree on the left...the composition is basically the same but the picture is completely different...the only unfortunate thing is the horizon line in #53 but it is still all good...looks like you have a great feel for making the snaps...

Yes, I see it now. It was unintentional. The more appealing horizon is safe in the original (53) but unfortunately, it includes a portion of my roof so I cropped it out.

Thank you for helping me understand composition. I keep hearing the word but the act of composing seems a stretch from capturing something that is already there. :D:D

Thank you. I'm gonna go look up 'composition'.
I bought a book for this and it was amazing. its opens your eyes to the simplest things that you wouldn't normally think to use or see. I love this book and I have pulled it out a few times here and there just for fun.
From snap shots to great shots: Composition, I am pretty sure you will take to this one. I have a few of these books and I really do love them. super short sweet and to the point. I didn't find any of it to be the blah blah boring repeat! What I really love about these books it it gives you challenges at the end of each chapter.
If you find your self getting it please let me know what you think. also there is a flicker group for each one of these books.
