Both of these shots are from today, 4/19/12. I haven't had much time and its been raining allot. Today was the first chance to get out with some kind of sky other than gray.
My cat wanted to be petted but she didn't want to come close enough so she laid down in the frame with her back to me to get my attention. makes a great black and white!

While working on the round going round challenge I decided that this shot was worth the POTD!

this was one fun subject. I would have to say that I love my 50mm more and more each time I use it. I love this photo for the focus of the front and the blur motion of the back of the hula hoop.

Thanks that was a really great laugh! that was totally my girls tonight. trying to get them to clean their rooms and this is how it turned out.
Even though these were both from today I will post anyway, I wasnt able to get out yesterday the sky was yucky and it was cold. after being in the upper 80's, 69 seemed like winter.
Today's shot comes from the wonderful and beautiful Bonnivile shore line trail head. this was up by the Natural History Museum of Utah.
I wasn't sure if this one was a keeper it was over exposed and I managed to fix it and change it a little I love the detail the black and white brought on on the petals.

Love the detail in the B&W. Maybe more contrast?
I will try that thanks. the original is way over exposed. LOL I get so excited sometimes I forget to change things up and we went from indoor to outdoor DUH moment and the ISO was like 600-850 and with a 2.8 on the 50mm it was way to much light. but that is the best part of learning the duh moments!
I wasn't going to re-post it here but I decided since I didn't do a photo yesterday I will anyway.
I darkened some of the highlights from the above, lowered the brightness about 10-12 (cant remember) and gave it a little more contrast along with a little more of the mid-tone contrast of 5.
Hopefully the Mountain bike trip today will give me something amazing to shoot.

This one I prefer because there are no buildings distracting from the flowers.

I didn't like the buildings much either, there were only a few I took with the building because I seen the sun shining just right to get it through the stems and when I got the camera and headed for the grass the clouds beat me. UGH! oh well! Wishing I would of had a macro for all the baby grasshoppers that were on the flip screen jumping here and there. now that would have been cool.

I have this strange attraction to the weird and unusual. I found this spot that has plants floating in foam containers and I call it my floating garden. I visit it often and watch the container float from here and there in some weird way its relaxing. in summer there are huge dragon flies because of the mosquitoes :} it gets cleaned up about once or twice a year so its always different. there is only water if it rains allot like lately.
