December 17th, this is just to justify the absence of landscape picture this morning. That's a MINUS sign in front of the 29.3...This is very close to the same temp in F.

Don, it's way too nice with snow here. I'd miss it and would get bored with nice weather.

I did a few more shots outside when it got a little warmer.

Those are really nice Marcel, you have a great location!! Nice too with snow here, but I am not thinking of missing it after this year! :)

Earlier you said it was -26C. I had to use an online calculator to change it to Fahrenheit (-15). That sure is COLD!

So my question is this...the water in both photos doesn't look to be frozen--especially the bottom photo. Does it freeze over? When a local river gets particularly cold, it can create ice jams, but then it is a river that flows somewhat quickly. Are these water shots of creeks or rivers? Do they flow quickly or slowly? I guess it is possible they are frozen over--it just doesn't look like it. Thanks for any info! :)

These shot were of a river that runs a little slow. It takes a few very cold days for it to freeze completely and as soon as it gets a bit warmer it will open up again.

Sometimes at the end of the winter it gets jammed with ice and has caused floods in the past in certain areas depending on the geographic conditions of the surroundings.

December 21st, I got a picture of Line's Xmas tree. D700, 35mm Ais f2 @f2, HDR with photomatix, iso around 1000.
Now I've got to go and shop for food and last minutes gifts... I haven't convinced myself to the Sony Nex-6 yet...

Shopping's done but the weather here is just plain crappy. Freezing rain makes a nice skate ring or mall's parkings. It's so grey that even without touching saturation there is just black and white. So, again I played with the analog filters of Nik tools. D700, 55 1.2 @ f2.
