December 9th. Piano person of the day, D600, 24-120 f4 VR II @ 50mm, iso 2000, 1/60 f4.5. There was only a large patio door and I didn't have any fill so I had to work a little more in post to open up the shadows.

Marcel, have you considered carrying a set of reflectors with you to use when you need some fill?

No I haven't. I do have a collapsable reflector but... I go to these people to tune their piano, the picture thing is just my sidekick so that I can print that book after retirement. So I know it would have been much better, specially in this case, but it doesn't happen too too often that I'm caught like I was today.

Thanks for the reminder Jeff. I should put it in the car and use it sometimes... It would have made a much better quality pic today.

December 10th, got back from work with no picture today... So, I thought about this month's assignment and played around just a bit.

December 12th, piano persons taken with D700 with 55 1.2 AI, iso 1250, 1/160 f2.8

This lens is really sharp. It always amazes me when I use it correctly and take the time to focus it properly. Thanks for the focusing screen replacement.

December 13th, friday the 13th... It was so cold that I didn't even want to take the time to do the 5 HDR exposures. -17 degree celcius, that is -2 F.

The river freezes and thaws depending on the temperature:

December 14th. Our cat was very attentive to birds that were playing around close to the window. The sunlight was very bright but gave me extra sharpness.

D700, 55 1.2 AIS @ around f8, iso 250

This is a 100% crop of the above. This is a sharp lens.
