November 29th, all taken with D700 and 35mm manual focus f2 AI lens.

Here's a picture I took last night while walking to a restaurant with Line. Seems the holiday spirits are strongly advertised... Not food, but drinks for thoughts :)

And two shots I took when I went for work in the University's Chapel:

Dec 1st. Although I hate squirrel pics, this is all I have to show for today's walk

Handheld D7000 with 300 AF f4 1/125s...

Here's another shot salvaged from yesterday's walk by the river. I was in a rush yesterday so I didn't have time to look at all files.

So, instead of a squirrel, here's a couple of ducks. Still with D7000 and 300, hand held at 1/200s... A little iffy but it did help that the shutter was set in the Quiet mode (it makes for less mirror vibrations).

December 3rd second and third piano person of the day. I've concentrated on uprights just so Jeff doesn't think I'm prejudiced ;)

What amazes me is the high iso quality of these digital marvels. These were both done at iso 2500 with the D700 and 35mm f2 AIs @f2.8, shutter speed 1/100 for the first one and 1/40th for the second.

December 4th piano persons of the day.

These two are kind of special to me because both pianos were restored by myself. They are now living in another town but the owners still want me to take care of them.

Chickering built in 1906, restored in 1986 (new soundboard, cabinet refinishing, the whole nine yards).

This Gerhard Heintzman was burned when, during a X-mas dinner party, the decorations which had lit candles caught on fire. I had to replace all strings and felts and refinish the cabinet.

Both shot with D700, 35mm AIs manual focus, iso 2500, available light and hand held.

Marcel, you have done some outstanding work with these two pianos!!! I must say that I am VERY impressed with the job you did.

I think a grand or baby grand piano is one of the most beautiful pieces of art around. Just the look of one in a room just changes the mood.
