if you would have moved a little to your left , you might not have caught the glare in the cabinet of the crucifix. . . and if you backed up or zoomed out a little more the tabernacle wouldnt have been cut off on the right side of the photo. . . and there might have been constraints that prevented you from doing those things, I don't know. . .

Points well taken.

Actually the main constraint was time. I went into this church as the congregation was arriving for morning mass. This was a little side chapel and there were pews behind me that were filling up and I didn't want to be disrespectful to the faithful. So it was kind of a rushed photo. The lighting was also a little tricky with not much interior light and the bright morning light coming through the side window.

Thanks to LR I was able to lighten up the crucifix a little.

Great shot. I think a panorama of that area would look really great also.

Thanks, Marilynne. I'm just getting the hang of HDR. Plus I'm a newbie shooting with D3100, so it looks like panoramas will have to wait until I upgrade. It looks like that date will be coming a whole lot sooner than I anticipated. :D

Camilla. An out-take from the recent Weekly Challenge-Models. I'd really like to learn how to take good formal portraits. It seems like it requires a unique skill set.

One thing for portrait, the focus has to be nailed to the eyes. If the eyes are not in the same plane, then it's the closest one that has to be dead on focused. This one is a little fuzzy.

I see what you're saying. That will be a challenge for me, given that my own eyes ain't what they used to be! :uncomfortableness:
