Could not get out today. Caught a Blue Jay out the window. Cold and blowing today. He was just trying to keep the back to the wind. I know I need to continue to work on technique but I am just excited to be able to see these guys and get a decent photo. It will come. Part of the challenges... when I get a little pumped up about something my brain jumbles a bit. All part of the pageantry.

Yes I like this. Yes it is FUN. God is good.

Sometimes it is the simplest things, but since there are so many little things to remember, it takes a while for them all to become habit. One of the reasons I am focusing on birds is to learn features that I wouldn't ordinarily use. It is working. I don't have to run to the manual as often. Secondary to the camera, I am learning to identify birds at a distance and their calls. Who'd a thunk it?

Thank you Mike. I appreciate the kind words. It is a handful and it is going to take some time to get comfortable with it.

A friend is taking me to Taylorsville today. I hope we can see some Eagles and Gulls. That will be a test. Hopefully I will have something to post. It is a bright and sunny day.

Today I went to Taylorsville lake to see if I could catch some eagles flying or some gulls. Well... today everyone was grounded... I took some photos of the nest that really qualify for Almost photos... but I am toast... So I cropped one to show what I could see of the eagle and left one un-cropped to show the hill side they hang out in. The thing that amazed me was that I was able to get the focus point right on the eagle. It showed me when I reviewed the pictures on the display. But the focus point was bigger than the eagle. Sure wish they had been flying.

I know they are not pretty, and if I get some energy back I may get a sunset with the new Sigma.

Went out to Keenland on the way home today. It is an old non profit Horse Race Track. Beautiful place. They are getting ready for the spring meet in April.
