Thanks for the updates! I'm still waiting for an email from Nikon that confirms that they have received my D600. I think they're backed up. I can only imagine . . .
Camera is home new shutter + 5 acc. Parts , cleaned and firmware up.
works great, but unable to get a shutter count after a few tries. Later Ed
Well I finally got my D600 back 23 days later. I put a lens on to test it out and have a huge streak or scratch from the top left boarder of the AF down to the lower left.
Not sure if it's in the viewfinder or reflecting onto it but I called in right away only to find out that they didn't even do the servicing and shutter swap.
Confirmed by Nikon rep was just cleaned after waiting for long and sent back. Previous problems not fixed and new issues with the camera now.

When I received my D600 after its second repair, not only were there spots, there was a larger mark that was bigger than spots. And all they did during that second repair was to clean the low pass filter that is over the sensor. During its 3rd repair, Nikon determined the sensor was scratched, but I have no idea how the sensor can be scratched since there is a low pass filter over it.
One has to wonder, if there is some kind of acid in the shutter lubricant that can damage the yellow low-pass filter if it is made from geletin.
My update...
After getting no where I got ahold of the emails for the regional supervisor and the Nikon Canada CEO. I forwarded an email to them expressing my concerns and experience in regards to the D600.
These emails did the trick as my questions on my "my nikon" page were almost immediately escalated.
Now today I received a personal call from Nikon saying they would like to exchange my faulty D600 with a D610.
From what I've read the D610 has not had any major issues, so I look forward to getting to use my nikon gear again and putting all this behind me hopefully.
