D600 shutter replacement news

Send only the lens cap, flash quard cap, LCD protector and body only. No battery; no memory cards, no shoulder strap, nothing else. They will send a statement, which will include a list of what was received with the body.

I'm not one to get something for nothing... Unless it's offered. Like I've said to senior management. If it comes to me getting a replacement, I'd rather not get a refurb d600 or any other refurb. I did offer to purchase the replacement with a decent discount, though. If nikon came back to me and said we can send you another d600 OR sell you an upgrade model like a d610 for xxx.xx I'd be more than happy to purchase. But if they offer to send a d610 at no charge, I won't challenge it

I would take the 610 in a heartbeat if it were me.....and not hesitate.....I mean after all it's Nikon's fault.

I would too... If offered. But I would also compensate for an upgrade if it were offered to me as well. There will be people that board the dust wagon just to get a free upgrade and that's what I don't approve of. I would also not expect them to send me a new boxed version with battery, charger, etc if I didn't send all that back in as well. Sure, it was nikons fault, but it wasn't intentional.

Totally agree. I'd be even more happy to buy a D800 with a discount.

That is correct. I just received my statement, with received inventory, via mail. I think I'll call Nikon today. They might have received whatever missing part that has delayed the completion of my D600 being serviced. My camera was sent in on March 1st. It's been awhile.

I think "We" are making progress. Nikon has informed me that the part that was on backorder has been received and my D600 should be completed by April 15th. We shall see . . .

I'm really impressed with Melville NY. I've always dealt with Los Angeles or El Segundo in the past. Never was happy with communication or turn around time.
Sent the D600 in last Friday, got notification from Nikon that they received it on Monday... UPS is out for delivery with a D610 on the truck.
I think Nikon restored my faith in them and possibly returned my enjoyment in shooting with this camera. Can't wait to open the box again

Question........ For the folks that have received a D610 as a replacement...

Are ya'll receiving a New in box D610 with all the accessories...straps, battery, charger, etc...????

or

Are you receiving a white box, body only, no accessories????????????
Gold box, everything in there as if it came from the store. New camera, not a refurb.
I have asked Nikon if they want the other accessories i.e. battery, strap, manuals, etc. Haven't heard back yet, but I doubt they will ask for any of it at this point.

Got my D610 replacement today, and to confirm yes it was a new boxes D610 like from a retailer.

Build quality feels better than my D600 to be honest and heavier. Could just be because I've been with out my D600 in total for over 2 months but am definitely happier now.

I'm waiting to get my replacement. They are backordered so I'm worried about how long I'll need to wait. In the end it will be worth it though. I3igcircle, enjoy your new D610!!!!

I might've missed it, but how are you guys getting D610's as a replacement for a D600? I assume that you guys have had your cameras sent in for repairs more than once. Thanks in advance.

Yes I have sent my camera in 3 times but the second time the service Center made a mistake and didn't do the shutter replacement, and also scratched the focusing filter.

With that they wanted me to send it back in for the work to be done and I refused pushing for an all out replacement with a D610 as I had all ready been with out a camera for close to a month.

Mine was perfectly fine from the factory. LA decided to replace the shutter and from that point on, bad shutters. 3 of them all together. Last one was the newer shutter they are replacing them with, plus a small scratch from all the cleanings. I asked for either a refund but they sent me a d610

I read NSC latest report. It seems they are replacing the shutter even after warranty and if they are not able to solve the problem, replace it with any camera. That is good news. Maybe it is a good time to consider a pre-owned
