I find I am my own worst enemy. I don't know how many times I have done this, but it is too many!!!!
I thought the new D750 was messing up. I would click the shutter release and nothing would happen. I played with the focus lock, etc and it still wasn't working. Then with out touching the shutter release the camera would fire. Check the grip, check everything and still strange happenings. Finally I realized that I had been shooting the day before using the self-timer set at 20 seconds. Sheesh, it was still set that way!

Happened to get this shot when looking at the camera, trying to figure out what was going on.

Then this one was while testing to see if I had corrected things.

Daughter and Granddaughter came to visit. Granddaughter was really engrossed in some kind of a Lego project.
This shot she didn't see me taking.

I've seen one of these in downtown Delray. Should stop and take a shot one day.

They are becoming popular in the larger cities and towns in AZ. This one is kind of unusual because it is located way out in the middle of the desert. Ha! I was really surprised when I saw it.

Train shots----- Now for the story. I was on my way home from church and saw a train that was a different color than usual (They're usually yellow Union Pacific) going through the crossing. Camera was behind the seat in the truck and I wasn't in any place to stop to get the shot. I turned around and raced down the road that paralleled the RR tracks to get ahead of the train. Luckily the train had to slow down for another train coming in the other direction. I managed to find a spot ahead of the train to park, but I was about 1/8 of a mile from a good place to get a shot. I ran to a better location and just was able to get some shots. Whew, that is rough on an old man. Ha!

My latest purchase was a couple of light stands and umbrellas. I usually don't have any "subjects" to experiment with so when my daughter and G'daughter were here, I suckered them into a quick photo session. Set up, checked settings using myself as a subject, then the real thing. One quick shot. I really thought it came out fairly well for the preparation involved. Ha!

Any suggestions are appreciated. I used two speedlights (manual mode), one silver reflective umbrella on our left and one shoot through umbrella on our right. I think both lights were set at 1/4 power.

All day it was dreary and rainy. It didn't provide much opportunity to get a picture. Then.....................
One of those "Fire in the Sky" sunsets. :encouragement:
