The other day, I posted a photo of some hay bales in the field. Some comments were made about the size. Today I was working on another piece of haying equipment and had the opportunity to get some pictures of the hay bales being stacked for loading on the semi-trailer.
The bales are about 3' tall and the "squeeze" is handling 6 bales at a time. Each of these bales were close to 1500 lbs. each.

This day almost got away from me when I finally realized I did not have a photo to post for the day. Oh well, it is time to practice with the flash, etc.
One day I will get things sorted. Ha! I started and kept getting a shadow even with a flood light shining behind the shot. Then I realized that the OCF was not firing and the camera flash was. I know I set the camera to CMD, but I think I must have forgotten to hit the "SET" button as when I checked it was back on TTL for the internal flash. Fixed that after playing with other lighting to eliminate shadows for way too many shots. Finally I got this shot. It's not great, but does get the job done for the day.
I'm not sure what kind of plant this is, but here is the shot. I could see as I processed it, I should have closed down the aperture to get more DOF. I had started ok, but then opened it up trying to get rid of the shadow, before I realized my flash was not flashing. Ha!

You have some real nice shots Walt........you know, the wonderful thing about this site is that so many different geographies are represented by all the members! There are some beautiful places out there, and it is great that the images are being shown, for all to enjoy. I have to get out your way before I die!
Thanks for the kind words, Chris. It's sort of funny how the things that I see here are just plain everyday stuff, but I guess to others it is something different to enjoy. Ha! The same goes for me when I see other areas of the world displayed on here. The world of photography is why it can happen. Ha!
After I posted it, I was looking back through some previous shots looking for something and saw another picture I had of a Western Kingbird and thought that this one was one also, but never got back to check and change. Thankfully I have you to keep me straight. Ha! As it has become very apparent, I don't know jack about bird ID. Ha!
