Chris, what software are you using for HDR? If it's CS5, you'll consistently get "weird clouds" I use Photomatix Pro and about 75% of the time, I use the "tone compressor" (not details enhancer) especially with a lot of sky and clouds. I agree with Jen . . . the effect is great on the town, everything is much sharper and more brilliant. . . you might want to consider a panaoramic crop on the hdr one by cutting out the sky just above the hill. Actually, the more I look at either one (hdr and non) I've thinking the focus should be the town and not the sky. worth playing around with. Good job, Chris!

I live Stowe's bordering town to the north (Morrisville). I bet you don't miss the high humidity in the Summer! New Mexico is nice and non-humid. I love the southwest!!!

Chris, what software are you using for HDR?

I have used CS5 for all my PP. I don't use Lightroom very often for developing, though it appears to be pretty powerful. I have tinkered with Photomatix a little; but since so many Nikonians are using it, I will dig into it further.
