Thanks Marilynne, I appreciate that. There are hundreds of them soaring around this part of the country but most of their nesting sites are not in accessible areas. I really couldn't believe they landed above me. But then again they were gone in about 60 seconds soaring down the river.
SQUATTER in my flowerbed. Found this Mallard under our Azalea this afternoon. Not sure when she built this nest but I only mulched it last weekend. She got off it when I almost touched her while doing some trimming but got back on before I got the camera. She does have 10 eggs in there.
