The crows have been having a field day attacking nests down here.

Didn't see any crows around the herons nests are so haphazard that they could have just fallen out and been scavenged. There are lots of nesting materials laying around on the ground.

Egrets building their nest from two different view points. I am guessing that the male is gathering the sticks and the female is placing them.

Thanks Chris. The Egret was working on the nest and this is the only shot I got with it's head up above those branches.

My wife and I visit some friends in Myrtle Beach each year. Last year they took us to an area after dark where you could see (with the help of headlights) hundreds of egrets perched up in the trees. They nest so close together. It was amazing to see them all in this one small out of the way area. Only the locals knew about this area.
