Thanks, Mike! I wanted a photo that was higher in contrast, and this one was the best of the bunch to convert IMHO. I saw the tree on Monday but only had a wide angle zoom with me (too much stuff to carry as I had my mom and her wheel chair). So I went back yesterday with my 105mm. That lens allowed me to get close.

Thanks. There's a lot of stuff going on, but it looked like it would work. I did have to do a slight crop to eliminate a near object from the frame, but otherwise liked the vantage point.


I picked up the 1 J1 just to have a decent camera with me while practicing my trade and it seems to have been a good choice. If I would have had this camera for the sunrise over Albuquerque a few years ago, I could have shown where the Natives got the inspiration for the blues and rose you see everywhere.

He's a cutie! I had to chuckle when I read his name...I immediately thought of the elf named Herbie in Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer.

Please give me a few days off before renominating me.

Maybe add into the guidelines that once nominated, you can wait to start, but once started, you should do 5 days in a row. That would give the nominee a little control so maybe they plan for the weekend, and decompress the thread a little too.

Just a thought.
