Just been back from visiting my Son in California. Thought I would share this picture of a very old and petrified tree!

Rainy day so experimented with a macro of water droplets. Trying to get the right size droplets and the right viewing angle is not easy. More practice needed. This is the best so far

Used extension tubes 32mm and tried some stacking to get more in focus but you can see the joins I think

Portmeirion - Wales Sorry I spelt he name incorrectly first go. Designed and built by Sir Clough Williams-Ellis between 1925 and 1975 in the style of an Italian village! Its looking a bit aged now but is still a popular place to visit in Wales.

I have shaky hands so normally use a tripod but want something lighter for carrying around when travelling. Do they work. Any tips ? The Manfrotto MM294C4 and the Manfrotto quick release monopod head seem to be a good price but should I pay more to get a better one.
