    Portraits in the dark

First, move the stool further away from the wall... giving you some depth behind the subject... you'll understand why in a moment... There's this rule about light and how if falls off exponentially... you want to turn your light's power down to their lowest, FASTEST setting... so the light...

    Settling for some extension tubes.

Yes... In fact, using focus peaking, you can dial in depth-of-field by turning the aperture ring as a process and see the DOF change right in your viewfinder... on your DSLR, you had to press the preview button to stop down the aperture to see what it was going to be... on the Z, you see it...

    Settling for some extension tubes.

I don't have the Laowa...I bought the Ttartisan 50mm f2... But they are all the same... There is no mechanical activation of the shutter like the older Nikon lenses... all these less expensive lenses have traditional click stopped aperture rings... There's no electrical aperture... you just dial...

    Portraits in the dark

We always just use one of those high lumen torch lights when we do very low light night shoots... Someone shines the light on the subject, we focus, they turn the torch OFF, and we shoot. It's like the focus assist light on the camera except 10,000X brighter. The focus assist light on the camera...

F-mount lenses on an FTZ adapter

Here's a thought... There are several reputable sources for USED camera lenses that grade their stock and give warrantees... Camera lenses are like cars, when you drive them off the lot, they lose value that doesn't impact their functionality or quality. Keep your eye out for the lenses that...

    Coolpix p520 does not charge

You can buy that camera on eBay for $35 for parts... Send both to many 3rd party repair places that work on Nikon cameras, and they can use the parts from your parts camera to fix your wife's camera. Sorry to hear about your problem...

F-mount lenses on an FTZ adapter

All of my FX lenses work as expected on my FTZ II... "D" Lenses are different because the electronics are different. So they're full manual but do work... My older AIS lenses work also... The lenseis that work manual use Focus Peaking... which is for schnizzle with these old eyes.

    Technical Service Advisories Z8

Yup... They've been using that system for decades...They did something to change/weaken the anchor points on the frame. "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." Somebody tried to "fix it"

EXIF Value for Lens Fine Tune?

That data appears to only be in the Nikon NEF file, and if you had exported those to Jpegs using Nikon software, then the AF Fine Tune data is transferred... but if you used a different sofware package, then that data is not exported to the Jpeg... At least, if I export a NEF using NX Studio...

EXIF Value for Lens Fine Tune?

That's a specialized value unique to Nikon and probably only their software is going to read it. Using Nikon's NX Studio, you can see the value. Interestingly, they don't list it the XMP/IPTC panel but in the INFO panel under camera info... Here's a screen shot of the right-hand portion of NX...

Anyone use DaVinci Resolve 18 for Video?

If I were you, I'd start with iMovie on your Mac. It's already installed... Video editing software all pretty much follows the same work-flow process... and layout... You import video clips, you assemble/drag the clips on to a timeline that tells a story, you adjust the length of the clips...
