Re: Today's Pic (not 265-2011 but maybe close) This particular portrait is a little peculiar. The lady didn't want to look at the camera because she thought it should have been her husband on the picture. He was the piano player but he passed away around 10 months ago. It felt a little strange.

I think that you forget to play around with the image once it has gone through HDR. Here is my version of your latest flower HDR shot. I thought it just needed more contrast, saturation, definition.

I like the 70-300, but since I got the 70-200 2.8, I'm sold to it. It's expensive, heavy, but is it ever sharp… Here's a crop from yesterday's shoot with the D700:

Re: Today's Pic (not 265-2011 but maybe close) Last night's concert was great but there isn't much light at these things. I had to take the iso to 8000. But, all things considered, I'm happy with some of my shots (the microphone was the culprit that prevented me to get more keepers).

An eye in the sky. Marcel's hobby is powered chutes. He has one which he flies solo and a tandem. I happened to spot him while I was driving to the greenhouse, stopped the car, took a few shots and then followed him to his landing spot where I took the portrait. I hope I don't get disqualified...
