Great portrait with fantastic expression. Focus is right on the eyes and they are attractive. I might have cropped it a little tighter to see more of her eyes and hide the fact that she seems to curve her back. Now mine entitled "Sulkiness"

Not as spectacular as my HDR practice, I like this one because of the human interest. This is what people do with sunsets, they watch them.

I think that what you are seeing is caused by haze. Warm weather will cause a decrease in contrast with the distance. Happens very often in the summer. Took your original and just added some contrast and I think it got rid of the cast.

Nice shot Pete. Just one note, underwater shots have to be color corrected. Here's my trial at color balancing your last shot. Do you think it looks better?

Re: Today's Pic (not 265-2011 but maybe close) Last night's clouds were just spectacular. No need to use effects beside a little saturation and contrast adjustments. We then had lightning that were like non-stop for about 3 hrs. Summer storms are in.

This is a great shot because your daughter has that expression. To me, the rest could be cropped and the picture would benefit. I find the color of her pants and the bottom part of the see-saw are taking my eyes away from her face when I look at the picture. Here would be my crop suggestion:
